Kuzmova reached Sunday's finals, starting 12:30 PM

Sunday's EMPIRE Slovak Open 2018 singles final will feature Slovak player Viktoria Kuzmova. She beat in Saturday's semi-finals Yekaterina Alexandrova (RUS) after a battle royal in 3 sets 7:5, 5:7, 6:4 after 130 minutes. In the second semifinal Veronica Cepede-Royg (PAR) defeated Anna Blinkova (RUS) 6:3, 6:0 in 64 minutes. Final match will also be broadcasted LIVE on RTVS 2, starting 12:30 PM.

Slovakia will have singles semifinalist at the biggest clay court tournament in Slovakia EMPIRE Slovak Open 2018.
Viktoria Kuzmova was successful today at both her matches, first against Madison Brengle (USA) 6:4, 7:6 and then she also defeated number 1 seed Johanna Larsson (SWE) 6:0, 7:6.

Sramkova and Kuzmova in 2nd round, play resumes on Friday

Wednesday’s match of the day at EMPIRE Slovak Open 2018 featured two Slovak players, number 2 seed Anna Karolína Schmiedlová and local wild card holder Rebecca Sramkova. Viktoria Kuzmova was also successful in the first round.

Juhaszova surprisingly qualifies for the main draw

TC EMPIRE Trnava member and EMPIRE Tennis Academy member Vivien Juhaszova was successful in the final round of qualifying and reached main draw of EMPIRE Slovak Open 2018, the biggest women's clay court tennis tournament in Slovakia.

Dear tennis friends,

we are all very excited to have a privilege to offer our supporters – together with my colleagues at TC EMPIRE club – the 10th annual international women’s tournament EMPIRE Slovak Open 2018.

When our tournament began to write own history - in the first week of August 2009 - none of us did not know how this effort will help the future of Slovak tennis, our town Trnava and also of our tennis club.

Andrea Petkovic will play at the EMPIRE Slovak Open 2018

Petkovic reached her career-high singles ranking of world No. 9 in October 2011 after reaching the quarterfinals of that year's Australian Open, Roland Garros and US Open.

Vera Zvonareva: Her second time in Slovakia

Former world No. 2, Wimbledon and US Open 2010 singles runner-up, bronze medalist at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing or 2-times Grand Slam Doubles & Mixed Doubles winner. Vera Zvonareva (33) from Russia is one of the best players who has ever participated at our tournament.

Schmiedlova’s return to Trnava: Will she be able to repeat the year 2014?

She is back. Fed Cup player Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (23) has won EMPIRE Slovak Open in 2014 and she is still the only Slovak who was able to do it at this tournament. She is experienced more than enough since that time. She went on Top to became Slovak player of the year 2015, but then she struggled and had to fight for points in the third hundred of WTA ranking. But now she is back in Top 100 and will be one of the favorites for the title in Trnava.
